This is the tale of a woman who should know better than to travel for seven months with a group of strangers in a truck going along the Silk Route to Australia. Fortunately I am that woman and I have a strong sense of adventure and I just can't wait for the fun to begin.

2 Days to go
A year of planning, dreaming, working and worrying and now it is nearly there. The trip I never did as a Gap Year, I went to Africa instead. My backpack is full and I can even carry it and I am as ready as I will ever be. As I do not have an inch spare, if I don't have it now, I will have to do without it or borrow from one of my fellow travellers. This trip is the culmination of my 7 year senior gap break which started back in May 2004 in Vietnam and took me to Turkey where I worked for over five years. It has been an amazing time but I am now ready to go back home, settle down and get a real job (do I have to?). It will be wonderful to be with my kids again but before that I have 27 different countries to visit and many new experiences, friendships and foods to sample. I hope you enjoy following my travels and I look forward to your comments.
